I visited the Nethercutt Museum in San Pedro, and sketched a bunch of the classic cars there. They have a really impressive collection, with cars dating all the way back to 1900. Very fun!

Dynamic Sketching - On Break - Classic Cars
Update: a lot of concept designs for fictional works like Star Wars and other things borrow design elements from classic cars. Here is a study on the Snowspeeder from Empire Strikes Back:
